Position Title: Governance Technology Trainer, Governance and Policy Services
Salary: $38,000.00 (depending on experience) plus benefits.

Responsibilities
Under general supervision and working within a broad framework of policies and procedures provides client training and support for the Governance Technology applications and services. Interviews clients as appropriate to determine client needs. Assists in the development of training and reference materials in both electronic and written form. Coordinates and evaluates the effectiveness of all components to ensure tasks are completed in compliance with client goals and objectives. Customizes training and materials as appropriate based on client needs. Assists with testing of applications. Follows up with new and established clients after training and product upgrades.
Responds to requests for information and questions from school board members and school district administrators regarding applications and services. Assists in marketing efforts, including presentations and follow-up calls to perspective clients.
As needed may lead a project team or direct the work of others.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Ability to train others in the use of computer applications. Ability to present trainings one-on-one or in group settings. Ability to present technical information in terms that the audience can understand and absorb. Ability to collect, analyze, and evaluate information related to developing and distributing school board meeting agendas.
Ability to carry out verbal instructions with little supervision. Demonstrated time management skills to complete projects and assignments by targeted due dates. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written forms. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to resolve problems involving several concrete variables in non-standard situations. Ability to use prudent decision-making skills.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse group of customers. Skill to provide good customer service that is responsive to each person’s needs. Ability to provide information that is reliable, accurate, and appropriate. Ability to respond well to inquiries or complaints from client districts.
Knowledge of computer operating systems, Internet browsers, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Knowledge of proper English usage, spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
Special Conditions of Employment
Must possess a valid California driver’s license, proof of insurance and reliable transportation for use on Association business.
BA/BS degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Education or related field or equivalent education and/or experience. Minimum two years’ experience in computer applications training. Frequent travel throughout the state with overnight stays away from home are required.
This is an exempt, confidential position. There will be occasions that the employee needs to work outside the standard office hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Vacations may be restricted due to operational priorities.
