The “California-Shanghai Principal Exchange Program” is an educational exchange program between the California School Boards Association and Shanghai Municipal Education Commission.

This program is a two-way exchange that provides educators in both California and Shanghai, the opportunity to globalize their education systems. This program is fully funded by the SHMEC, with no monetary cost to the participating California school districts. The goal of this program is to foster better understanding of the educational philosophies and structures in the educational practices of both countries. It also serves to help students on both sides of the Pacific in preparing for the challenge and opportunities in the increasingly interconnected world of the 21st century.
