Capitol veteran joins CSBA’s Communications Department 

Ioannis A. Kazanis has joined CSBA’s Communications Department as the association’s public information officer and media consultant. He has extensive experience at the state Capitol, where he worked in Gov. Gray Davis’ administration as an assistant to gubernatorial Press Secretary Steve Maviglio and as a constituent affairs representative. He was the press secretary for Assembly Member Nicole Parra, D-Hanford, before coming to CSBA.

“CSBA has a long and successful history of fighting for California’s students, and I feel honored to join this dynamic team as we work to break down any and all barriers our students face in their educational endeavors,” Kazanis said.

Kazanis earned his master’s degree in public administration at the University of Southern California’s State Capital Center. His undergraduate studies at the University of California, Davis, were in history and political science.
