Proposals sought for Wellness Conference
Published: April 1, 2007
CSBA is seeking proposals for workshops and smaller “table talk” discussions to be presented at the School Wellness Conference Oct. 1-2 in Anaheim. Proposals must be postmarked or submitted online to the conference planning committee by April 20.
The conference, designed for school board members, superintendents, food service supervisors and anyone interested in improving student fitness and nutrition, is the centerpiece of a groundbreaking statewide collaborative effort by CSBA and the California Departments of Education and Health Services.
Wellness conference planners say their aim is to support “a cultural shift toward healthier school environments and kids” by highlighting effective nutrition and physical education programs, sample district policies that promote health on school campuses and strategies to help schools implement and evaluate local school wellness policies.
