CSBA Business Affiliate Program: Doing well by doing good
Published: July 1, 2007
CSBA’s California Schools Business Affiliate Program is celebrating another banner year after enrolling a total of 130 businesses for the 2006–07 fiscal year, according to Cindy Warfe, who oversees the operation.
Established in 1999 with 12 participants, the Business Affiliate Program offers companies the opportunity to support public education while publicizing their goods and services. It reached a major milestone in 2005, when a total of 100 businesses signed on. The program is sponsored by the CSBA Foundation, which directs the revenue from affiliates to training and awards programs for CSBA members.
It’s good for California public education and good for business. Depending on their level of participation, business affiliates receive:
- discounted or free exhibit space at CSBA’s Annual Education Conference and Trade Show
- similar discounts on advertising space in California Schools magazine and the annual conference program
- a hyperlink from the CSBA Web site to the affiliate’s Web site
- other benefits that increase the visibility of goods and services offered by the businesses that participate
Through their tax-deductible contributions, CSBA business affiliates help make CSBA events and programs more affordable while making their own marketing dollars go further. The education leaders who read CSBA publications and attend its training opportunities and education and advocacy events are key decision-makers who spend more than $66 million to educate more than 6 million students in California public schools.
