‘Show and tell’ at Annual Conference and Trade Show

CSBA’s Annual Education Conference and Trade Show always offers an abundance of learning opportunities for governance teams. Aside from the conference keynote speakers, presentations and workshops featuring education and governance experts from around the state and across the country, the exhibits and demonstrations on the trade show floor will give conference-goers an up-close look at a wide variety of products, services and innovative approaches to helping students and employees.

A unique exhibit included among the vendors’ wares will be the Robotics Challenge, where robots designed and built by Poway Unified School District students will display their impressive capabilities. District officials and students will be on hand to discuss the innovative, hands-on after-school learning program throughout the trade show’s two days, and 75-minute workshops beginning at 8:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, will put the machines through their paces.

Once again this year, the CSBA CyberCafé will offer computer stations for free Internet access from the CSBA Pavilion, and CSBA staff will be on hand to discuss how the association’s programs and services help local board members and administrators to advance governance standards and student achievement.

There’s much, much more planned for the conference and trade show, which returns this year to the San Diego Convention Center Nov. 29-Dec. 1, beginning with optional pre-conference sessions on special education and other topics Wednesday, Nov. 28.
