CLSBA to address Hispanic issues in Del Mar Oct. 4-7

Leading members of the education community and government officials are among the many speakers to be featured at the California Latino School Boards Association’s Unity 2007 Leadership Summit and Education Training Conference at the Del Mar Hilton hotel in Del Mar Oct 4-7.

This year’s conference will feature workshops such as “English Language Learners,” featuring Patricia Gàndara of the UCLA Civil Rights Project, as well as workshops on gang prevention, the Brown Act, the Chicano Latino Youth Leadership Project and the California High School Exit Exam. Legislative speakers will include Assembly member Joe Coto of San Jose and state Sen. Alex Padilla of Pacoima.
