More Business Affiliates drawn to CSBA
Published: July 1, 2008
CSBA’s California Schools Business Affiliate program, which offers businesses the chance to publicize their goods and services while supporting public education, increased its roster to a total of 141 businesses in 2007-08.
Established in 1999 with 12 affiliates, the Business Affiliate program reached a milestone in 2005 when a total of 100 businesses signed on. The program is sponsored by the CSB Foundation, which directs the revenue from affiliates to support trainings and programs for CSBA members. Through their tax-deductible contributions, the Business Affiliates allow CSBA to expand its services for those who work on behalf of California’s public schoolchildren while making their marketing dollars go further, reaching more than 7,000 school board members, administrators, business officials and facilities managers.
It’s good for California public education and good for business. Depending on their level of participation, Business Affiliates receive free or discounted exhibit space at CSBA’s Annual Education Conference and Trade Show, similar discounts on advertising space in California Schools magazine or the association’s Annual Education Conference and Trade Show program, a hyperlink from the CSBA Web site to the affiliates’ own Web sites and other benefits that increase the visibility of goods and services offered by the businesses that participate in the program. The education leaders who read CSBA publications and attend association trainings, education and advocacy events like the annual conference are key decision-makers who spend more than $68 billion to educate more than 6.2 million students in California public schools.
