Student centered services and medical care in the school-setting are pivotal to the student’s success. Practi-Cal can assist your LEA in maintaining service compliance and maximizing your federal reimbursement. While in the care of your LEA, a student may receive focused educational and medical services coordinated to obtain desired outcomes. Practi-Cal’s innovations in recording and supporting student medical services sets us apart from other billing firms. The reason is, we do not see recording services as simply a method for billing, but rather a resource for practitioners to collaborate, coordinate, and make care accessible.

At Practi-Cal, we know the patient is at the center of the delivery model and outcomes are paramount, regardless of the student’s needs. This is why we have built our LEA Billing and RMTS service to assist you and your practitioners in a way that is easy and above all, compliant.

Simply put, Practi-Cal is more than just a billing firm. We focus on what matters to program leaders and practitioners. You will not find an easier or more compliant software anywhere…this includes any IEP writer or student information system, with a few added features. Program audits have shown us that LEA’s cannot chance their reimbursement to a system or service that has gaps in compliance monitoring. Practi-Cal monitors state and federal policy and prepares solutions to ensure your LEA keeps the reimbursement it generates.

From Care Plan Development, Electronic parent and Physician authorizations, plan monitoring, consent, supervision, reporting documentation, parent portal, and transportation management, We have the complete solution for your LEA.

LEA Medi-Cal billing option

The Local Education Agency Medi-Cal billing option program allows school districts to claim reimbursement for Med-Cal services they currently provide to eligible children within the school environment. Reimbursement dollars can help to increase the amount of funding districts have to improve and enhance health services to their students.

Random Moment Time Survey (RMTS)

Starting January 1, 2015 the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) transitioned the new Random Moment Time Study (RMTS) methodology to replace the worker log methodology that had been the basis of the School-Based Medi-Cal Administrative Activities "SMAA" Program for more than a decade. While the structure of the SMAA Program is still intact, the method of developing statistical data for Local Education Agencies (LEA's) SMAA claims has changed. This new RMTS methodology provides a statistically valid means of determining what portion of the selected group of participant's workload is spent performing activities that are reimbursed by Medi-Cal.
