CSBA’s Policy Platform provides a broad policy framework for implementing the association’s mission to set the agenda for the public schools and students of California. It guides the association’s policy and political leadership activities.

What's new?

The CSBA Policy Platform Committee met in late March to review proposals and developed analyses for all suggested amendments that were received from the field as of the March 7 deadline.  As a part of their discussion the committee considered the implicit beliefs of the association including, but not limited to, supporting local control and opposing unfunded mandates.  As an additional means of gathering broad input, CSBA committees and task forces have also been reviewing the platform items related to their particular subject matter and will provide recommendations to the Policy Platform Committee.

During the upcoming May Delegate Assembly meeting, Delegates will have an opportunity to review and discuss all proposed amendments and recommend additional input.  The Policy Platform Committee will meet once again in July to consider all input from the Delegates and make recommendations to the CSBA Board of Directors in September.  Delegates will have an additional opportunity to review the Platform in the fall and a final review and discussion before it is adopted at the December Delegate Assembly meeting.
