Robert Cruz
Director, Region 23, Charter Oak USD
Robert J. Cruz, a long-time member of the Charter Oak Unified School District Board of Trustees, is the Region 23 Director of the California School Boards Association representing East Los Angeles county and San Gabriel Valley. He has served on the Board of Directors since 2005.
Cruz has served on CSBA’s Delegate Assembly since 2000. He has also lobbied in Washington D.C. as a member of CSBA’s Federal Issues Council on behalf of California’s public schoolchildren.
Cruz, a 1982 graduate of the University of Redlands, is a member of the California Latino School Boards Association and a representative to the Los Angeles County School Trustees Association.
He is the chair of the Covina Chamber of Commerce’s Education Committee, and is also a member of the board of directors for the Chaffey College Foundation.
Cruz is a Public Affairs Manager for the Southern California Gas Company. He and his wife have four children all educated in the Charter Oak USD.
