Where to Refer Parents

Parents can be referred to the State’s toll-free line, 1-888-747-1222, to ask questions about Healthy Families and Medi-Cal for Children and to request a joint application. In Los Angeles County, parents can also be referred to the local toll-free line, 1-877-597-4777. Parents can also be referred to a local certified application assistant (see below).

Getting help from a Certified Application Assistant

Many local agencies and community-based organizations have certified application assistants that help families free of charge in completing Healthy Families and Medi-Cal for Children enrollment applications. These agencies can also assist schools in setting up enrollment events or a "Healthy Families" booth during school registration days, PTA meetings, and immunizations days. To locate certified application assistants in your area:

Where to Order Applications and Handbooks

 
Joint Healthy Families and Medi-Cal for Children applications and handbooks can be obtained by calling the State’s subcontractor, Richard Heath and Associates (RHA), toll-free at 1-888-237-6248. Applications and handbooks are available in eleven languages.

Where to Order Parent Information Fliers

 
For a reproducible, camera-ready copy of a parent information flier or a copy of a health care coverage program summary chart, contact School Health Connections, Department of Health Services, at (916) 653-7746. The parent information flier is available in 11 languages and can be provided in bulk quantities.
