Providing school health services in California research
CSBA conducted a comprehensive statewide study with school board members and superintendents, to examine the extent to which California districts/COEs currently provide medical services, dental/oral health services, mental health services, prevention/management of chronic illness and healthy weight services. The research also asked whether they anticipate a change in demand for services over the next three years, what barriers they face in addressing school health services, what types of support would be useful to districts and more.
