CSBA reacts to governor’s appointment of Glen Thomas
West Sacramento, Calif. – The following statement was released by California School Boards Association President Paula Campbell and Executive Director Scott P. Plotkin in response to Gov. Schwarzenegger’s appointment of Dr. Glen Thomas as Secretary of Education:
“The years of experience that Glen Thomas brings to this position are exactly what is needed at this time,” said Campbell. “The challenges facing California schools are grave. The governor’s appointment of Dr. Thomas, who has worked in public education at many levels – as a teacher, administrator and executive director of a statewide education association – is a positive sign that the Administration wants to work with the education community to solve our problems together.”
Plotkin stated, “From my many years of working with Glen, I know that he shares the vision of CSBA that the futures of all children should be driven by their aspirations, and not bounded by their circumstances. We look forward to working with him as Secretary of Education.”
