The California Department of Education is launching a new service to help local districts and county offices of education provide translated educational material.
The summits focus on how to develop core district values for bargaining and strategies for K-12 management.
With the support of the Education Coalition, state Superintendent Jack O’Connell and the California Teachers Association have filed suit against the governor for violating the constitution and Proposition 98 by underfunding schools by $3.1 billion over two years.
Public school advocates will be working hard over the next two months to urge a ‘no’ vote on the “California Live Within Our Means Act,” Proposition 76 on the Nov. 8 ballot.
According to the terms of the settlement, all boards must hold a hearing each September regarding sufficiency of instructional materials and to adopt a sufficiency resolution.
