This report from the National Center for Education Statistics estimates graduation rates in the nation, based on an estimate of the percentage of high school students who graduate on time by dividing the number of graduates with regular diplomas by the size of the incoming freshman class four years earlier. NCES acknowledges the report’s limitations because of the lack of student-specific longitudinal data.
