CSBA Has Not Taken Position on Proposition 8

The California School Boards Association has not taken an official position on Proposition 8 – Limit on Marriage. The official No on Proposition 8 Web site currently states that CSBA opposes Proposition 8. This is not true. Neither the CSBA Board of Directors nor the CSBA Delegate Assembly adopted a formal position on this proposition, and did not consider doing so. CSBA has no position on any proposition which appears on the November 4 statewide election ballot.
CSBA has sent a cease-and-desist letter to the No on Proposition 8 campaign, requesting that this erroneous information be removed from the Web site immediately.
