Annual Conference sign-ups open June 15

Early conference registration opens at 8 a.m. PDT Monday, June 15, for CSBA’s 2009 Annual Education Conference and Trade Show, which will run Dec. 3-5 at the San Diego Convention Center.
Those who register early will receive a significant discount on conference fees and then be able to register at any one of our partner hotels, including the headquarters hotel, the San Diego Marriott and Marina. Once registered for the conference online, early conference registrants will receive an automatic e-mail confirmation with a link to the housing bureau’s Web site.
Early housing registration opens at 7 a.m. PDT Tuesday, June 16, for reservations at any of the partner hotels. A one night’s credit card guarantee is required when making reservations at the San Diego Marriott Hotel and Marina ($239 daily rate), at the Manchester Grand Hyatt ($212) or the Westin Gaslamp Quarter ($208).
CSBA conference planners encourage participants to register early. Featured events run the gamut—from stimulating general session speakers to hundreds of clinics, workshops, and table talks on a wide range of critical issues. The Annual Conference is also an unsurpassed opportunity to discuss the issues that local governance teams share with their counterparts from school districts and county offices of education throughout the state.
Although this year’s conference offerings are the most extensive ever, registration fees have not increased in the last two years, and conference planners negotiated to ensure that housing costs at all of our partner hotels would stay as low as possible. CSBA recognizes that this year’s conference comes at a critical time when money is very tight and districts and county offices face difficult budget decisions. The Annual Conference is designed to give governance teams the tools they need to survive in this harsh fiscal climate.
