CLSBA Unity Conference in Sacramento Aug. 20-23 

The California Latino School Boards Association will host its 2009 Unity Conference Aug. 20-23 at the Sheraton Grand Sacramento, including a Lobby Day at the nearby state Capitol building.

Six conference strands are planned under the overall theme of “Making the Case for Our Students”: Reversing the Dropout Rate; Empowering Youth and Preventing Gangs; Promoting P-12 Articulation; Enhancing Parental Involvement; Meeting the Needs of English Language Learners; School Board Governance; and Financing Alternatives in Recessionary Times. Presenters will include CSBA governance consultants Christopher Maricle and Kirk Berger, CSBA Assistant Executive Director for Governmental Relations Rick Pratt and Principal Legislative Advocate Erika Hoffman.
