Nominations for 3 CSBA directors-at-large due Sept. 25

Nominations for CSBA directors-at-large, American Indian, black and county are being accepted until Friday, Sept. 25. Nomination forms and information related to the election process are available to download from the CSBA Web site.

CSBA’s Board of Directors consists of the 21 regional directors from throughout the state as well as the association’s officers, any officer or director of the National School Boards Association who resides in California and the president of the California County Boards of Education. There are also five directors-at-large; elections for American Indian, black and county at-large representatives are conducted in odd-numbered years, and those for Asian/Pacific Islander and Hispanic representatives are conducted in even-numbered years.

This year’s elections will take place at CSBA’s Delegate Assembly meeting in San Diego Dec. 2-3. Directors-at-large serve two-year terms and take office immediately upon the close of the CSBA’s Annual Education Conference and Trade Show.

In a departure from previous years, nomination forms and information about the elections will not be mailed. This change is consistent with the cost-cutting efforts that CSBA Executive Director Scott P. Plotkin has characterized as the association’s “commitment to the careful and effective use of our members’ resources.”
