New CSBA webinar series under way

A complimentary online presentation on policy and legal issues surrounding school fees last month launched CSBA’s newest member service—a webinar series called Education Insights @ CSBA.
“Education Insights @ CSBA” will feature CSBA’s own staff and experts from outside the association. While programs are planned monthly, a firm schedule and subject list has not been developed.
“We’re keeping things pertinent and timely,” said Andrea Johnson, a program consultant in CSBA’s Leadership Development Department. “When there’s something our members need to know, we’re going to put it out there for you.”
During the July 26 school fees presentation, for example, CSBA Senior Legislative Advocate Debra Brown and Howard Friedman of the Fagen Friedman & Fulfrost law firm outlined possible implications of recent litigation and legislation. They helped participants understand how they can ensure compliance with constitutional protections and laws limiting schools’ ability to charge students for programs, services or activities. Like all Education Insights webinars, it will be archived for viewing anytime on the series’ Web page, found on CSBA’s Training and Events page.
