California Schools magazine fall issue discusses school finance

Check out the fall issue of CSBA’s California Schools magazine, which explores the theme of school funding and finance. Feature stories include envisioning schools of the future, the state of school bonds in California and sustaining progress on the Local Control and Accountability Plan.
The new issue also includes commentary by CSBA CEO & Executive Director Vernon M. Billy on the importance of state investment in school boards, a look at state funding from CSBA General Counsel Keith Bray and a profile of member Colby Pereira, a trustee of Mission Union School District near Salinas. The Class Acts section highlights efforts to reduce gang violence in the Pomona Unified School District through small schools and partnerships, and an innovative STEAM program at a Santa Rosa City School District middle school.
