Two law firms step up to Premier Business Affiliate level

Two longtime members of CSBA’s Business Affiliate Program have expanded their support to public education by boosting their participation to the Premier level, investing $25,000 in the program. The two law firms—Kronick Moskovitz Tiedemann & Girard, and Dannis Woliver Kelley—help provide training opportunities and services to governance teams. For example, the program allowed complimentary member access to the recent Education Insights: Legal Update webcast regarding next steps for the Local Control Funding Formula and advice on developing your Local Control and Accountability Plan.

Kronick Moskovitz Tiedemann & Girard is a full-service law corporation with offices located in Sacramento, Bakersfield, Roseville, San Luis Obispo and Walnut Creek. With backgrounds as varied as deputy county counsel, superintendent of schools, adviser to the California Department of Education, school board member and teacher, their attorneys’ experience, combined with their legal knowledge and passion for education, give the firm a unique, practical insight into the legal complexities and financial challenges of the education environment.

Dannis Woliver Kelley is a California education law firm that represents hundreds of school districts, community college districts and county offices of education, with offices located in San Francisco, Long Beach, San Diego and now in Novato. The firm’s areas of expertise include: board ethics, transparency and accountability; business, property, construction and finance; labor, employment and personnel; litigation; charter schools; and special education and student issues. DWK offers trainings in all areas related to education legal matters and can customize a training based on your district's needs.

5 investment levels

The Business Affiliates program allows CSBA to form relationships with companies that provide needed services and are committed to supporting public education. A portion of Business Affiliate program revenues are used by CSBA and the California School Boards Foundation to provide educational opportunities and services for members.

Five levels of participation allow Business Affiliates to benefit from extra visibility with the more than 7,000 school board members, superintendents, executive assistants, facilities managers and business officials—an audience that spends more than $50 billion annually to equip and maintain thousands of school buildings and provide educational opportunities for the state’s 6 million public school students. Business Affiliates are able to:

  • Network directly with school leaders across the state
  • Access a variety of discounts, special opportunities and services
  • Gain insight into the latest developments in education
  • Demonstrate support for public education
