AEC provides compelling leadership training, inspiration for thousands

CSBA’s Annual Education Conference and Trade Show 2015, held Dec. 3-5 at the San Diego Convention Center, was a huge success, with approximately 3,500 school board members and administrators from throughout the state in attendance. Leaders participated in a range of professional development workshops and table talks, including governance training, legal issues, school finance and facilities, Common Core State Standards, LCFF and accountability, and many more. General Session speakers included Sarah Lewis on creativity and Pedro Noguera on achievement for all. The final session featured a lively conversation moderated by CSBA Executive Director and CEO Vernon Billy on national issues and politics, with strategists Steve Schmidt and Jonathan Capehart. In addition, attendees had the opportunity to interact on the CSBA trade show floor with partners, sponsors and vendors to learn about new and innovative services. School district leaders from around the state were also honored for outstanding programs at the Golden Bell awards ceremony. To learn more or watch the General Session speakers, visit the AEC website. Complete coverage of AEC 2015 will be in CSBA’s upcoming January newsletter.
