Best Practices in Education Programs Recognized at CSBA Golden Bell Awards

SACRAMENTO, Calif., (December 3, 2015) - The California School Boards Association (CSBA) will present its prestigious Golden Bell Awards to 62 school districts and county offices of education from across the state at a recognition luncheon held during the association’s Annual Education Conference and Trade Show on December 5, noon – 2 p.m. at the San Diego Marriott Marquis located at 333 West Harbor Drive.

The CSBA Golden Bell Awards program, now in its 36th year, promotes excellence in education and school board governance by recognizing outstanding programs and practices in school districts and county offices of education. The awards especially highlight innovative and sustainable programs that focus on the needs of all public school students.
                                    
"The Golden Bell Award winners exemplify the excellent work and determination of so many school leaders from around the state to meet the needs of California's students and local communities,” said Vernon M. Billy, CSBA CEO and Executive Director. “I congratulate all of the school district and county board of education members and their staff teams for their accomplishments and program successes.”

Programs focused on student achievement through after-school programs, mentoring, instructional interventions, scheduling changes and use of data and other innovations garnered the most honors this year.

Experts from California school districts and county offices of education made up the 28-member judging panel. Awardees will be honored in the following categories:
