Assistant Executive Director, Policy & Governance Technology Services
Elaine Yama-Garcia is California School Boards Association's Assistant Executive Director, Policy & Governance Technology Services and is a member of CSBA’s executive leadership team. Yama-Garcia oversees CSBA’s Research and Education Policy Development, as well as the Governance Technology Services, including GAMUT Policies and Meeting Services.
Prior to working at CSBA, Yama-Garcia started and managed her own law firm, representing school districts and county offices of education. She also practiced with the Law Offices of Bennett & Sharpe and Lozano Smith, both in their Central Valley offices. Her areas of expertise are labor and employment law, special education and general education law. Yama-Garcia received her juris doctorate from San Joaquin College of Law in Fresno, California.
