This innovative two-day training is one of the best opportunities for county board members (both new and veteran) and county superintendents alike. Participants can expect to attain an advanced level of knowledge and understanding of the county board governance role by participating in this popular program. A wide breadth of timely and relevant topics will be covered, including topics on shared governance, LCFF and LCAP, charter school oversight, the California dashboard, as well as advocacy and legislation. The two-day training includes materials, continental breakfast, lunch and refreshments.

The Program

The County Board Advanced Governance workshop will be held at the Yolo County Office of Education at Woodland, CA on Friday, March 23 – Saturday, March 24, 2018. This training will help you attain a high level of competency and understanding of the county board governance role. Throughout the training program, you’ll learn about tools you can use to become a more effective member of your governance team. You’ll hit the ground running with in-depth county focused learning opportunities on budget and finance, county board appellate role, legislative advocacy and community leadership, Local Control Accountability Plans, plus an opportunity to network with other county board members.
