Vernon M. Billy, a veteran policy consultant and public education advocate in both the public and private sectors, has been named as CSBA’s new executive director following a vote of the association’s Board of Directors.
"I can say with the utmost confidence that Vernon is the right choice for this time. He brings a unique blend of experience in the education policy, advocacy and business arenas that will serve all of us well."
CSBA’s Legislative Action Conference May 15-16 may be the last best chance to get the state’s political leaders to “unthink” what’s been called the “unthinkable”—an all-cuts budget.
Legislators must represent the school district or county office of education that nominates them, and all nominations must be postmarked or received by Sept. 2.
