CSBA Counties Governance Workshop
Join fellow county leaders in Sacramento from Feb. 25-26, 2027 for the 2027 Counties Governance Workshop.
This annual event convenes county board members and superintendents to learn, connect and tackle the most pressing issues facing county offices of education. The 2027 workshop will focus is special education — a core responsibility of county boards.
Pre-workshop training opportunity
CSBA is offering Orientation for New Trustees as a pre-workshop activity. This training will take place on Feb. 24.

Registration fees
Registration for this workshop is open with the following registration fee schedule:
- Early rate (Oct. 27-Dec. 8, 2026): $500
- Regular rate (Dec. 9, 2026-Jan. 27, 2027): $575
- Late/Onsite rate (Jan. 27-onsite): $625
Housing
Hotel accommodations are now available to book at the Embassy Suites Sacramento Riverfront Promenade online through our dedicated website. Attendees are encouraged to make reservations as soon as possible.
The CSBA-negotiated block of rooms has a reservation cutoff date of Feb. 2, 2027, or until sold out. After this date, rooms may be available on a space-available basis, and the special group rate may not be guaranteed. Please note that the hotel requires a valid credit card in which an advance deposit of one night’s room and tax will be charged to guarantee the reservation.

Registrants are responsible for securing and, if necessary, cancelling their own housing reservations. Cancellation is 48 hours (2 days) prior to the check-in date to avoid being charged the fee of one night’s worth of room and tax.

If you need to cancel your registration or have questions, please email all cancellation requests to register@csba.org.
For cancellations received by Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2026:
- A full refund will be issued.
For cancellations received prior to 11:59 p.m. (PST) on Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2027:
- A 25% processing fee will be applied, and the balance of your registration fee will be refunded.
For cancellations received after Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2027:
- No refunds will be issued.
Substitutions may be made with another individual within the registrant’s LEA by Friday, Feb. 19, 2027. Contact register@csba.org or countyboard@csba.org to make your substitution.
***Please note, attendees will be required to sign a Liability Agreement on site as a condition of attendance to the Counties Governance Workshop.
