CSBA represents members through leadership in legislative, political, judicial, community and media advocacy. CSBA’s seasoned team of lobbyists and policy experts advance the association’s Policy Platform by interfacing with and lobbying the Governor’s Office, state and federal elected officials, the State Board of Education, the Commission on Teacher Credentialing, the Education Coalition and state agencies. CSBA offers free, member-only webcasts, webinars and online tools to provide members with the resources and support they need to cultivate and sustain relationships with their elected state and federal representatives.
Through the Education Legal Alliance, CSBA represents the statewide interests of public education in legal proceedings with the state and federal courts and state agencies.
In addition to serving as local policy leaders, school board members are important spokespersons for public education. From training sessions held annually at the Annual Education Conference and Trade Show to online tools and books available through the CSBA Store, members gain the skills needed to advocate for public education in their local communities and with the media.
