Join us for a comprehensive training session designed for you! In this bundle, you'll delve into both Ethics Assembly Bill 2158 and Brown Act Training.
Program
The Ethics training comprehensive overview of the conflict-of-interest laws applicable to school board members, including hypothetical situations for deeper learning experiences, and resources for additional knowledge. A certificate of completion will be awarded to the school board member upon successful completion of this training.
The Brown Act training will provide tips, tactics and techniques to build effective governance teams, conduct meaningful meetings and fulfill governance responsibilities, while focusing efforts on improved student learning and achievement
Who should attend?
Board members are subject to the ethics training requirement whether or not the member receives any type of compensation, salary, stipend or reimbursement for actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of official duties. (Gov. Code § 53234.)
The intricacies of the Brown Act provide important, yet often convoluted guidelines for board presidents, superintendents, and members of your governance team.
Registration
The registration fee for both the Ethics Assembly Bill 2158 and Brown Act Training is $225, including materials. This does not include access to the CSBA County Board Member Services Conference.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel your registration or have any questions, please direct all cancellation requests via email to register@csba.org. Registrants may cancel with written notice for a full refund until August 28, 2024. After August 28, registrants may cancel with written notice for a 50% refund until September 5, 2024. Cancellations or transfers received after September 5 are not eligible for a refund, as materials have been ordered on your behalf. There are no refunds for no-shows. Please include your name, organization, and the event title in all correspondence.
