The principle of open meetings initially seems simple. However, application of the law can prove to be quite complex. The intricacies of the Brown Act provide important, yet often convoluted guidelines for board presidents, superintendents, and members of your governance team.

Program

Board members, board presidents, superintendents and executive assistants are always asking questions about the Brown Act. Attend this interactive session and find out everything you need to know about this complex act. You'll even learn how to apply the law. Board members receive tips, tactics, and techniques to build effective governance teams, conduct meaningful meetings and fulfill governance responsibilities, while focusing efforts on improved student learning and achievement.

Registration is encouraged for board members, board presidents, superintendents and executive assistants.

Registration

The registration fee is $125, including materials. This does not include access to the CSBA County Board Member Services Conference.

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel your registration or have any questions, please direct all cancellation requests via email to register@csba.org. Registrants may cancel with written notice for a full refund until August 28, 2024. After August 28, registrants may cancel with written notice for a 50% refund until September 5, 2024. Cancellations or transfers received after September 5 are not eligible for a refund, as materials have been ordered on your behalf. There are no refunds for no-shows. Please include your name, organization, and the event title in all correspondence.
