Alliance of Schools for Cooperative Insurance Programs

We are a member-owned, non-profit, public agency JPA offering Property & Liability coverage, Workers’ Compensation and Health Benefits to California public schools. An Owner Controlled Insurance Program for school construction projects is also available to reduce costs and for safer construction projects. While affordable, member-focused broad coverage is provided, we believe it is more important to partner with our school members to create safer learning environments. Therefore, a host of loss control, training and risk management services are provided to our members at no additional cost.

We are the largest classified school employee union in the United States. California Sheet Metal/HVAC Industry

We provide high quality technical education to men and women who seek a rewarding career in the sheet metal and HVAC industry through our joint apprenticeship programs. The contractor members of the California Association of Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors (CAL SMACNA) and the craftperson members of the Sheet Metal, Air Rail and Transportation Unions' (SMART) work together to design, construct and maintain advanced HVAC systems for schools that place a premium on energy efficiency and enhanced indoor air quality. Our goal is to create and ensure a learning environment that is healthy, high performing and comfortable for students and teachers alike. Our pool of contractors and professional craftpersons will make all of the difference when it comes to delivering work on education facilities that is safe, on-time and within budget.

California Statewide Electrical JATC

We provide a career for highly skilled craftspeople. Electrical workers receive their training through local joint apprenticeship training centers utilizing a standardized education program supported by the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). This model education partnership produces a highly skilled and trained workforce equipped to meet the demands of the customer.

Eric Paredes Save a Life Foundation

Through awareness, education and action, the mission of EP Save A Life is to influence families, educators, policy makers and the medical community to recognize the incidence of sudden cardiac arrest in youth and the importance of preventative heart screenings, cardiac emergency response plans in schools and automated external defibrillators (AEDs) with CPR/AED trained staff anywhere youth congregate. Founded in 2010, the foundation has provided nearly 28,000 free youth heart screenings and placed 42 AEDs and counting in youth communities. The foundation also sponsored the Eric Paredes Sudden Cardiac Arrest Prevention Act, which specifies prevention training for California coaches and cleared-to-play protocol for parents and students participating in school-sponsored athletic activities. The Act is part of the 2019 Revised Heath Education Framework.
