Governance and Policy ResourcesResearch, guidance and services for effective school board governance

The 2024–25 state budget process promises to be the most contentious and confusing in years. CSBA's education budget resources page will help you stay informed on the state budget, communicate with your stakeholders about important developments and advocate for the funding our schools need to educate and support students during challenging financial times.

After a decade of steadily increasing state budgets, revenue shortfalls have presented the possibility of budget cuts that could affect curriculum, programming, staffing, operations and facilities at the local school district and county office of education level. Staying up to date on the negotiations and the potential impact on your local educational agency is imperative. We aim to give you the resources and tools you need to stay informed, stay in the fight for full and fair school funding, and keep your students, families, staff and community engaged on this important issue.

Please check back often as we'll be updating this page regularly!
