25 November 2015 - On Nov. 19, the House-Senate conference committee reached an agreement on the reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, approving S.1177 with amendments (see below) by a 39-1 vote.

18 November 2015 - The California Association of African-American Superintendents and Administrators is inviting all CSBA members to attend and participate in its Health & Equity Leadership Institute. The Institute is free to AEC attendees, and will held Friday, Dec. 4 at the San Diego Convention Center.

10 November 2015 - Local boards in CSBA’s 21 regions will participate in the 2015 Delegate Assembly elections between Feb. 1 and March 15. Elected individuals serve two-year terms, from April 1, 2016, through March 31, 2018.

10 November 2015 - At its bimonthly meeting last week, the State Board of Education heard concerns about the growing size and complexity of LCAP documents. The board encouraged school districts to use innovative ways to make the LCAP easy to use and understand, such as by using infographics, but it took no official action on the issue
10 November 2015 - The Community Preventive Services Task Force announced that it recommends early childhood education programs based on strong evidence of their effectiveness in improving educational outcomes that are associated with long-term health, and sufficient evidence of effectiveness in improving social and health-related outcomes.
4 November 2015 - In May, CSBA co-sponsored a labor management symposium that brought together school board members, superintendents and union leaders from across California to learn about labor-management collaboration.
